This was my post in ANN about the anime.

I have been reading comments, reviews and other information about what people think of the anime because I'm thinking that the success of this anime will reflect on the probability of the producers to make the next book into an anime. Most have been positive comments but there is something that people say that bother me a bit.

They say it lets down after the third episode because there is not enough action. I've been worried because it is true that people, especially young/teen boys love to see violence, which is the main target of this show. Some say that the show is slow and there is too much talking. I would say that this show is not much of a show that puts emphasis on fighting. Also, people need to understand that Balsa avoids killing people, making her want to avoid fighting because of her vow to save people and kill no one, (even though she can kill many people if she wanted to. Haha. ).

So bottom-line is this show has more to offer than just some over-powered fighting and women main characters wearing revealing clothes; it has nice music, scenery, dialogue(?) and the plot and character portrayal is very vital.

So if you like an intriguing tale, a little action, some culture and a well made show that is more than just killing and fighting, then it is for you. It's really like a book that turned into anime...oh wait, it is. If you like action and that kind of stuff then my recommendations are playing video games like: Max Payne, Counter Strike: Source (which I've played and are very good.)

I'm just saying, so for all the haters out there, yea...

So, you're saying that the show doesn't appeal to teenage boys. Isn't that a good thing?

I myself is a teenage boy and everyone should like this show (everyone who watches with a degree of trying to understand), I should show it to my sister, she's a brutal critic. I should make her review it, she's smarter than me.

This post I made was just clarify that people who thought that the show was slow after the first 3 episodes should try to appreciate the other aspects. And I guess I should say that the action really picks up around the end too, like the Jiguro story and the ending.

I guess I might as well spill out some.

PS: Sometimes I don't even know wtf I'm talking about when I think too much.?????

I knew that but you're not an American teenage boy which I assume has a lot to do with why you seem to have more sense than most.

As I replied to your post at ANN, I wouldn't worry about people who say that Moribito is to slow. The same people say the same thing about Cassablanca, Gone With the Wind and Ben Hur...

I was wondering if I should compile all reviews of the show.

So people don't have to go looking around to read reviews about the show.

    Hmmm...

I loved this anime... it haves action when is needed!
Balsa is not a brute, she haves her feelings and after all she promissed her Master, not to take life but save them... maybe those guys that say that is a "slow show" must go watch "Dragon Ball" or other anime like it!
Is a good story and it haves a nice message behind it, the only thinkg that mades me sad was that Balsa didn't end up with Tanda! Sad I felt sorry for him... well he was also a bit dumb...

No, he wasn't dumb, he was in love. I think he realized long ago that nothing was going to happen. There was just no room for romance and family life on the path that Balsa had chosen. He knew it and so did she. I think she realized that it was a high price she had paid because she plays at family life whenever she gets the chance.

    Grin,

Yeah. I agree with your thoughts on that as well (Isn't that a suprize? Hahaha). Tanda was far from being dumb, he was just dumb in the sense he fell in love with a woman he can't have (Like a lot of love sick teenagers, ATM) nor will she be able to settle down anytime soon, and by then...I'm sure it will be to late.

    Hasta,

I hope that in some way they can find love! Maybe they found someone more in their way...
One thing is sure no matter what they will keep their feelings for each other and continue as good, almost like brothers, but I would love to see a kiss between those two!! Eh... Eh... or mayve something more LOL.... ok... ok! Very Happy Would be sweet... but would become more painful in the end.
I wish they do another season.... continue the books...

Well at least Balsa and Tanda get to see each other every once in awhile, apparently.

This romance thing is almost the only reason I want to continue this anime lol.

Hmm, the romance really wasn't that important to me to be honest (surpring, since I'm usually a shipping freak Smile ). I think if they had gotten together at the end of the series, it would have felt a little forced. Like the anime staff was putting them together to appease fans. Not that I'm against the pairing (who could hate BalsaXTanda?), I just think that if they had been a happy little couple, it would have ...how do I put it...watered down Balsa's character (that probably makes no sense whatsoever). Argh, I'll clarify what I mean when my brain comes back from vacation.

I just hope that they would make the other books into anime.

But I've been hearing about how the second book takes place in a dark cave almost the entire time and would not be good for animation.

I say screw it I'll watch episodes that are all set in a dark cave.

Ahahaha. It's something like fighting people in the dark trying to save something for the Kanbal Kingdom...I'm not sure, fully.
